While its not pure photography, I love looking at HDR photos. I an a big time amateur at it, but its still fun to play with. I usually find the less realistic ones more interesting, but they are kinda cheesy too.

Why wouldnt you do more?

Also Is there a certain program you use to merge them? Can you do it in photoshop?

The other was free but idk what its limitations are. Ill try that one too onc eI get some shots. Whats the normal -1 0 1+ ? Or what ever to get different effects?

CS5 and CS4 for those two I did.

Reason I won't do more is simply because it's not photography, it's digital art. While the two sort of seem like they go together, they certainly do not. If you sat down at my machine and flipped through my Lightroom catalog you would see that my watermarked and bordered shots look nearly identical to the onfile originals side by side except for minor tweaks and sharpening (some have zero adjustments at all from the out of camera file). I'm in to photography for the best possible shot I can land based on my skill. Not my editing skill.

On the flip side, I've seen some pretty good realistic HDR. I've also seen some cooks that are so over edited, I have no idea why anyone would do it.

There's a niche for everyone. This just isn't one for me.

I completely agree with getting the best possible shot with out editing, but I wouldn't hold anything against HDR. Its not Much different then taking a picture of your vehicle and making a sig. Its just another form of art. While that may not be your style and all, but that don't mean it cant look good.
