Alright so im kinda new to the SLR's considering my most recent camera Fuji-film s2100 broke so i was thinking sense i cant put up 600 for a camera right now i and im new to the SLR's i was thinking of getting the Pantex K-r12 from qvc because they have an easy pay system any feedback on this camera for a beginner would be great. Also it comes with two lens 18-55mm and 55-200 its 899.99 but it has the easy pay for 179 a month would be the only reason for me getting this particular one

nope thats for the bill me later shit for easy pay i figured it out with taxes an everything my payments would be 197.40 a month for 5 months with no intrest

if you want a decent camera at a decent price for now you can look into a new powershot...i love the one i just got

by no means is it as good as my dslr...but it makes a good carry around that also takes HD video

i was looking at reviews on the K-r12 for like 6 hours today and i bought it i think it was a decent deal without having to throw out the 900 right away 5 payments of 197.40 with the two lenses cant wait to get it should be here Thursday they said ill make an update when i get it in.

Talk about impulse, you didn't even give it a day before jumping in.

Several things I'd have pointed out to you as I have held this camera at a Cnet seminar.

First, you're stuck on pentax lenses of the following models: KAF3, KAF2, KAF, KA (K mount)

You can go outside pantex lenses above via adapters, but sacrifice image quality and or functionality such as autofocus, AI, and perimeter focal point functionality.

Only uses SD and SDHC memory card, no compact flash = slow write speeds in comparison. There's a reason the big boys are R&D'ing compact flash regularly.

White balance is mostly automatic with ability to make subtle tweak, would point you towards a camera that can entirely override via custom white balance capability.

They post format sizing that I would be weary of in this cameras MP sizing especially on their sub par undersized crop sensor. Shooting a Large Raw at 4288x2848 at 12mp is entry level at best these days. Viewing that shot on a decent monitor your eye will pic up noise and softness, without being too picky.

Pentax claims 6fps in their advertisements, but I saw less than 2 fps when shooting Raw, which is unacceptable.

(edit, Pentax advertises Large RAW will net you 2fps). I even question that speed. I felt as though it was slower in my hand.

I might have slowed my dive on this deal.
