day off work...
means some time to work on my car
![]() cleaned up the engine bay a bit - the spark plugs were out to be cleaned up: ![]() yum: ![]() finished installing my autometer phantom boost gauge and aem uego wideband: ![]() gonna order a blue led for the boost gauge to match my cluster. and i still need to weld the bung for the wideband o2 sensor. then i helped my buddy (who helped me with my procharger install) swap his turbo in his 91 plymouth laser awd. went from a 16g turbo to a holset hx35 turbo (found on turbo diesel dodge ram trucks) comparison shot: ![]() should lay down anywhere from 450-500 awhp @ 25-30 psi and go low 12's to high 11's from what i can gather. car is very fun to ride in

Engine bay looks clean! I like it! There is a guy that runs at the local track with a FWD Plymouth Dynasty with that very same turbo! He runs slicks and a trans brake, but it runs low 11's. Takes forever and a day to spool though.

thanks! I'm waiting til I dyno, then ill really detail it up.
the laser has went a best of 13.4 on the 16g at 14 psi with some tuning issues. he primarily kills me in the 60' being awd. but top end is very close. edit: I dont expect to keep up at all with his new setup lol

Good tires + seat time and he will be seeing your tail lights from the green light to the finish... Unless he cheats and uses 4 drag radials.

tires are my biggest worry. I'm on some no name 245 all seasons the prev owner put on, and I'd estimate my 60' time is somewhere near 3 seconds. laser went 1.8 on snow tires: (

Nitto NT555R's are fairly cheap if you want to run drag radials. For street tires I'd recommend NT05's if you can afford them. If not, I have Kuhmo Ecsta SPT's and they are both cheap and have decent grip until they get REALLY hot.

do you have personal experience with the 555rs? I don't daily drive my car, but it does get about 5-6k miles each season. I originally planned on 555rs but keep hearing conflicting reports on how well they hook. nt05rs seemed good too but not nearly the same mileage as 555rs. ultimately I think slicks are in my near future as I want max traction when I go race, but need mileage when I'm driving normally.

If that is the case I would get a set of dedicated track wheels at least for the rear and get some NT05R's or Mickey Thompson MT ET Street radials. Then run something like Kuhmo's or Sumi's for the street. They will be a major upgrade from all seasons either way. Even if the Kuhmo's and Sumitomo's are on the cheap side. That way you can have your cake and eat it too. With drag radials you can drive them to the track and back with no worries unless it rains. Even then if you take it easy you should be ok. Then for the shows or cruising you can shod your baby in the street rubber and not worry at all. Get decent mileage out of them and wash, rinse, repeat.
