I got a new camera!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so its not really new.... Just new to me.

Today I recieved a gift from a friend.

She called me the other day. Saying she had a customer that had an old camera & tripod that he wanted to go to someone that would appreciate it & she thought of me. She said she didnt know what kind it was, but the guy said it was a Cadillac in its day.

Well today I picked it up after work. Looks to be a Heiland PENTAX H1 35mm SLR. & the tripod is "Safe-Lock" brand. I didnt realize it had a full roll of shot film in the camera untill I opened the back. So sadly it was ruined. Would have been cool to see what was on there. The film is a ANSCOCHROME 20 exposure cartridge.

Heres a few quick pics of it. Any info (from people in the know) could share with me would be very much appreciated.

What I have found so far:
The camera was made from 1963 to 1966.
There were 3 models of this camera made. This being the lower end model.
The lens on it appears to be the standard lens offered.
The tripod I know nothing about.
The film company appears to have went out of buisness in the early 70s.

I think its really cool. Cant wait to go get a roll of film to run thru it.

Im going to get ahold of PENTAX to see if they can tell me when this one was made. I was born in 1966. How cool would that be if the camera was made the same year??

I work for Goodwill Industries and I literally see old cameras like that a few times a month and it's crazy how good condition they are in. We sold one of these Konica's from 1975 for around a hundred dollars (it was basically mint).
