You use any "blackening" products on it? Like back to black or something? It might just be because its dark outside, but it still looks darker.

Hey Shaun, I should probably mention this before you run off and start painting. Adhesion promoter works well on plastics instead of primer. And you'll want to put down a good amount of clear coat to protect the paint since those panels get touched so much (it will prevent the color from rubbing off).

Nope, the most I use on my plastic pieces is some ArmorAll interior wipes

Out in the garage now, got 1 coat down I think I'm about to run out of paint. I can probably get one more coat then i put 2 or 3 coats of clear.

I just painted my calipers. I painted them black so when I throw my chrome fr500s on they'll be noticable but not you standard red.

Okay here we go. Couldnt find an allen wrench that would fit the trim piece, so I had to mask it off.

1st coats

2nd coats

Didnt take pics after the first two clear coats, so heres pics of the last coat I put on wet

So tomorrow gotta put the tail lights back on, the interior pieces and the intercooler piping. Piping sucks the most, Ill have to put some RTV around so it doesnt blow off. Might try saftey wire too. I never have issues with the cold side blowing off, but just for added insurance.

My dads gonna make fun of me for painting the interior redfire lol. Dont care.... Depending on how I like it, Ill probably buy some more paint and do some more interior trim pieces.

I do oil changes in my driveway at 2am all the time, but no painting... I don't have a garage to work in

I am sure I told you about cops thinking I was trying to steal things off my own car when they saw me under it at 2am... fun stuff.

Thanks guys, Ill get pics of everything back on the car tomorrow. Im dissapointed I ran out of paint, I was going to paint some more interior pieces. But for $6 a can, and got 2 coats on my interior trim piece, and 4 coats on each intercooler pipe....cant complain.

What about the instrument cluster? That probably wouldnt look good but

Need more pics of custom interiors so I can get an idea. Like I said, the interior on these are pretty bland. Want to set it off alittle.

Hmmm, the instrument cluster looks good painted, I might do that too:

Only thing about that is my shift light goes through there, only way to get it out is disconnecting the shiftlight from the PCM. Great.

You could get some ideas from here, just remember there is a "too far" line with interior painting IMO.
