blacked out tailights, tell me what you think?

hey guys just wanted to see your opinions on my tail lights, im thinking of trying again and doing them a little darker. please be honest that' why i put it up

Looks like they came out pretty good, might look better if you give them more of a glossy look by maybe putting some clearcoat on them if you didnt already. I wouldnt go any darker though.

^he is afraid of clearcoat.

I would put about 5 coats of clear on it. Then sand and polish if it were me.

last time i put clear coat they didnt give them a glossy look at all, they left them really patchy and i had to start all over

You have to put clear on thick!

But hopefully it doesnt get to that point of course

lol yea i know, but they came with the car when i bought it about 2 months ago, in their defense they have a cobra in the middle haha

I put clear on, waited about 20 minutes between coats

Did 5 coats.

Then waited about 2 hours and ran them under a blow dryer just to be sure they were dry.

Then sanded with 1500, and then 2000.

Then buffed to sex shiny finish.

yes...get the color match brand paint...in a high gloss auto clear (around $6.99)...not the cheap clears for standard plastic

then a day or so later after it all cures...buff like your life depends on it

yea thats the one i bought, and yea i already but a compund for buffering so i will be doing that thamks you all for the help

Try and go a little darker. I just posted this pic elsewhere before seeing this thread but here is how mine look...

Don't remember how many coats of clear we used but it makes a difference

i just gave them their 5 coats of clear and waited 15-20 minutes in between each coat now im going to wait like an hourish to blow dry them, should i wetsand once their dry?? like wont that take the clear coat off??

i just wetsanded them after the clear coats and wow they have 100% more shine to them, thanks guys for your help! i will post pics up tommorow of my new talis and my dumps
