Made some changes to the shag wagon.

I plastidipped the cowl on my hood this morning. It stayed on long enough to snap this pic and was removed. I just didn't care for the look very much. I also removed the rear blackout vinyl and the strip on the bottom of my rear bumper. I like the look with only the Mustang lettering. Here's a couple pics.

The car looks better without the cowl painted IMO

But I really need to try this Plasti-dip thing, its like a spray can right? And did you have to tape around the areas that you dint want to it to get splashed on or anything?

I was thinking of plasti dipping my wheels but if its that easy to take off wouldnt it come off by it self after a while??

I haven't tested the long term durability yet. Im just using the stuff to see if I like an idea before using actual paint. It does come in a rattle can and you do need to tape off areas you don't want painted but any overspray you get can be easily removed.

Thats all I took. It just didn't impress me much being matte black. I still think gloss black would look good.

hope you dont mind me throwin a few pics up, but i feel like it might help some guys make the decision to try out the plasti dip!

Taped up! if you get any over spray on the car a good was will take car of it!

it was done for about 3 weeks, then i took it off to redo it because it was kinda streaky. the paint was fine underneath!

I re did it last weekend looks flawless now! i used a fat cap form the local art store to prevent the streaky-ness!!

i also did the roof. but left it just long enough to snap a pic as well. didnt turn out so well (paint started dripping off the can and made the paint splotchy). i think i may try agian soon.

Bingo! I didn't think about this until I removed the plastidip. Im also gonna use the stuff in a regular can with a sponge brush next time. Its getting hard to find the stuff in a rattle can around here. Apparently the plastidip craze is getting crazy. I went to two different Home Depots and only one had four cans left, Lowes was also sold out but all if them still had a bunch of the regular dipping cans. I don't mind anyone posting pics to help.

haha i know man!! i just got the last can at lowes, and home depot was sold out!! lol i shouldnt have told my friends, now they're all telling their friends and its getting crazy! lol

the only non spray cans we have around here are the yellow ones. might be time to just have to order some. you might actually be able to order a gloss kind. i remember hearing somewhere that they offered a gloss.

no gloss yet... only flat colors so far. But they have a poll on there facebook and one of the voting options regarding what they should produce next is "plasti dip in gloss"

a fat cap is just a replacement cap that you put on the can instead of the cap that comes on it form the store. it creates a bigger diameter of paint that sprays out. you can get em and any local art store i would imagine. they are pretty big in the graffiti world. lol people use them to fill their letters in.

this...

An this is what i was refering to:

Q:Is there any product on the market that can be applied over Plasti Dip® to provide a glossy finish?

A:Our Perfomix® Brand F-799 Top Coat will provide a glossy finish and is currently available in 5 gallons and 50 gallon drums.

I plasti-dipped my rims on my 72 mach. They came out sweet. (pics soon) Planning to do my lady's wheels on her edge.

I've been toying with the idea of trying the plasti dip on the trunk of my sixxer though
