Old meets new (ya im a pic whore, and?)

Took the car to the old Pickle Factory here in town. This factory is what made the town back in the day. Almost everyone either worked here or in the farms making cucumbers for the factory. Today, its just a run down factory that is for sale.

These pics came out amazing. It was a beautiful day, and I caught the best lighting.

Please let me know what you think!

Forgot to mention, and this is not a negative response to you Psn, just so I don't have to explain it 500,000 times, lmao.

My left exhaust is low. Its broken atm, and I have not gotten it fixed. But I am aware of the hang

Thanks for the compliment on the pics man!

Some of your photos are a bit crooked, but that's an easy fix. I'm not really a fan of the extreme tilts, but that's a personal preference and part of your creativity.

The main thing I would suggest to work on is placement of your subject. A few of the close ups of your car are a bit off centered. And you want your subject to be the main point of focus. Your car being red saves that for you in your wide shots, but it almost falls off in the background.

Over all they are very good shots, just need some minor tweaking
I do like that your stuff is usually unedited or close to it.

Which camera are you using? I agree with Triple on some subject placements. I know on my 7D, you can turn turn on the "rule of thirds" grid in the view finder. Definitely has made me more aware of my subject placement, and I can't shoot without the damn thing on anymore.

Ya, I have noticed that my main downfall is level and placement. Still working on an eye for that.

You are correct. The shots only only have very minor tweaking done. Simply edits on the tone/color of the shot. For example, a few of these came out with a blue hue, which was not a repersentation of the setting. So, I changed it back to a warmer hue. Thats as far as any editing goes.

Correct... Rebel XS. I don't think there is any grid option. If there is, I can't find it.

The XS doesn't display the grid through the view finder, but you can enable it for live view.

This. I think the 7D is one of the view that enables it through the view finder.

Zat, I saw in one that there was a blue hue, you can kill those for the entire shoot by setting a custom white balance.

Another item, when your shooting in a shaded area, and an area behind your subject is in the sun, you're eye gets drawn to the brighter part of the shot. In this case, the sun was so bright that the grass comes off blown out to a yellowish color. (reference the second shot from the bottom in your first post).

My personal preference is that car shots need to be shot using the rule of thirds but always leave the voided area in front of the car - as if it has space to travel forward within the frame. Try it an see.

Last thing, landscape style shots with cars detracts from the details of the car. My rule as an enthusiast and shooter is to make sure the car occupies at a minimum 1/3 of the frame. I won't go wider than that as the car gets lost and seems miniscule.
