Yeah but has anyone heard any new news on the challenger?
Dodge makes awesome concept cars...They just fail to produce them... |

I like it. Something missing though to make it perfect. I don稚 know longer trunk or wheel base.

Lol,nice save. I could deal with the present "Charge" if they just named it something else. Thats a huge reputation to uphold with that name,so any ol design won cut it. The present Charger looks much better with the SRT package or whatever with the big factory rimes etc.

hey, ford saved the mustang name after the abortion that was the mustang II, remember? at least ford had the common good sense to not put the mustang name on a sedan.

Chargers lost all balls after 72...Plain and simple...Mustang didnt fair much better until the fox body...But at least the mustang has been goign since 65...through thick and thin and still no 4 door...Although they talk about it...It has not happened...
Dodge makes pretty pictures but in all actuality they have ruined what they had going for them in the 60's and early 70's... |

Chris Im with you on the question of what the actual production version will look like. Though now a days theres big emphasis on retro styling etc etc. It hasn't always been that way. With the popularity of Barret Jackson, the whole Eleanor style car craze, people are scrutinizing these names and designs like never before. The retro design is more popular than ever. So with the styling hints of the classics ,it even more important to savor the classic nameplates IMO. But yeah those were ugly attempts to resurrect the Charger name in the 80's. BTW- I dont think there were really any sexy, sweet etc looking cars in the 80's.Maybe a few,but that was a rough time for automobiles.

Personally I never liked the look of the old Chargers. Like the '69 pictured above. This one, however, would make me stop in at Charger show to take a look around. I wouldn't buy it though. No way. Dodge and Chevy are just too far behind in the game at this point. If only concept cars came out the way they are showed, as concept cars. I doubt Dodge will release anything resembling this.

Hmmm, the pic I posted is gone ,oh well.It just look stalker. Like if it pulled next to you ,you would think twice about testing it,lol.
BTW- If you look at recent concepts over the past couple years and believe what you read in Motor Trend etc etc. automakers are not doin the "whacky futuristic" concepts anymore. They have finally realized that realistic concepts and the Detroit Auto show are a great opportunity to unveil actual models. So this could very well be a pretty close rendering of a production version. Look what Chrysler has done with Challenger.

here's the car next to a 1968 camaro...notice the front end tapers. The front end does'nt taper on the 69 charger- it is very wide and is straight inline with the front fenders.
Nobody else see's the comparison?
