Don't mind at all! Nice fix. That was one of my first attempts at HDR.. Then Photo bucket raped it with compression.

I have pictures from hurricane Katrina.

We have a plant down in New Orleans. At that time, our plant up here in Canada was also down for unrelated reasons. So when they began rebuilding our plant, we started running down to New Orleans to pick up product, and I saw some of the damage first hand.



Here are a few of those pictures.











On the way in on the I-10 Twin Span. That's the east bound side completely washed away. I'm in the passenger seat of the truck as my co-driver drives, taking these shots.








On the way in to our yard, traveling along US 11 just off the I-10 Twin Span.

Eeek.. I never have gotten used to seeing that much damage... Everytime I see these pic's it makes me realize how small we really are.

This is some of our equipment that was trashed. About 80% of the fleet down there was destroyed.

Note the water marks on the sides of the tractors. If you've ever stood beside a tractor trailer, that gives you an idea of how high the water rose.

There were also a bunch of Freightliner trucks that had just been purchased. Brand new. Never been drive. 150k dollar trucks, destroyed. In the pics you can see how the one caught on fire, presumably from the water shorting out the truck's electrical system.

i only made it a hour and a half or so north from where i live for rita,one the eye was over i was on my way home and i stayed home for ike

I have other pictures I can't find. We drove in to town in the site manager's rental car (his personal car, along with his house, were destroyed), and I took pictures there. I have pictures of a huge house that was lifted from it's foundations, broken in half, and one half of that house floated about two blocks and smashed in to another house.

Every house had a big 'X' on them. There would be numbers written in each v of the X. Each number represented something. I took a picture of one, where the top v was a 6, and asked the other driver I was with if he knew what those numbers meant. He did, and I don't remember what they all meant, but the top number meant fatalities in that house.

Almost every house had a 2, a 3, a 5, a 1, a 4, a 3....

I stopped taking pictures of the neighborhood damage then, because it just felt wrong.

u know, when i'm bored i run a search on members past threads, and zip, u, by far, have written about some of the most messed up things u've wittnessed, or been through the aftermath of.

the thread about the car coming through the store window and pinning the women down still brings chills to my spine. ur family must be hella proud of u

No, I wish I could take credit for them.. I believe a couple of them were if the bad tornando's a couple years back in Oklahoma & the others of Katrina at landfall.
