I put a plastic bag over my CAI filter, spray it all down with Simple Green, put the hood down and let it sit for a few minutes then just take the high pressure hose and go over it from all angles. Doesn't take long and don't get too close to anything. Then just take a towel and wipe it down. Sparkley clean

You rock! Thanks, looks easy. I'm working way to hard by not getting things wet! Yeah I use Simple Green on a regular basis. I'm in a condo so I go use the high pressure hose places and I would guess letting the water drip rather than pulling the trigger, would rinse it very nicely...and you can start it right away correct : )

I do not know WHY I think if the engin is wet it won't run...that's crazy! I drive in snow for god's sake....LOL

You're a doll-appreciate it. : ) Now I won't have to pay a detailer to do it.

Yep - start it right up! I was absolutely terrified the first time I did it. But trusted Emay's advice and it worked like a charm! Just don't get the stream too close - may only have to rinse for a max of a minute..minute and a half? Oh...and don't start the car with that stupid plastic bag over your intake filter. I did it...dumb.

I was PISSED. I thought...huh...what the hell was that? Then proceeded to start it up 2 more times. Dumb. Such a girl thing to do. That filter twisted and collapsed to almost half the size. I took it off, punched it from the center (small hands FTW!) and put it back on. Wouldn't know anything was wrong with it unless you looked closely....but it ticks me off every time I see it

Opal, I drool over that bay of yours regularly. To the point that sometime soon I will be opening up my looms and extending/relocating all of the oem wiring so it is routed lower in the bay out of eye sight. It's an eye sore, and I refuse to wrap it in a different color to draw more attention to it. I like my carb days where there was no wiring except ignition hanging out in there.

Emay, we think alike. I hate it when I see peeps with the pepboys multi color wire loom looks like @$$!

As for your bay, it looks killer now and the wire tuck would just take it to another level. Me being a show junckie have seen very few mod motor guys do a wire tuck, so I will be eagerly awaiting the results of your endeavors. Its one of the cheapest mods you can do and its also one of the best things you can do to clean up a bay. Good luck, I will be waiting for the pics.

A hint for you cleaners too, go to a coin op wash spray your engine down with the tire cleaner, let it sit 15 mins. then spray it off dont worry about getting it wet it gets wetter in the rain lol.

but after your done and its dry spray and wipe it down with pledge. It will make it shine and keep dust from collecting so next time you can just wipe it down with a rag and it will sparkle again
