Opinion on Camera

I have been thinking about getting into photography some with a DSLR camera. I can't spend that much but I found that I can by a Canon Rebel XT with a lense for around $400. What do some of you camera experts think about this as a first DSLR camera.

Canon's are great. You really can't go wrong with a Canon or a Nikon. I like them both but I use Canon because that's what I have. The XT is good but 8 megapixels (not that that's bad). The XTI below is 10, however it is refurbished.

I purchased the Olympus E-510 and love it. I actually like it more then my Nikon D40x. Both those cameras are in the $650-$750 range though.

I don't mind it being refurbished since this would be my first camera and i don't want to spend too much money. Maybe i will look into that now

It's a great camera for a beginner to start with that doesn't want to spend a butt load of money.
