question about S/C

Y'all might think this is a dumb question but is there a way to put a clutch on a S/C like what an a/c compressor has? so you can turn it on and off. It's a question i have always had and never know the answer to.

Why would you want to? You should be out of boost in the normal driving rpms and above that I'm sure you will want the boost.

no as far as boosted applications there is a certain a/f tune just for that car with the boost if you run the motor without boost you will run really rich timing would be for shit and i would assume maf and o2's would go nuts and you cel will be glowing

Not really. Blowers can take upwards of 50hp to spin, so thats one hell of a clutch. The bypass basically makes it so the blower is "not" operation while out of boost.
