blower = supercharger. Turbo is more efficient but costs more and harder to install.

a blower is that big thing you see coming out of the hood on carbed engines. It is a s/c for cars with carburetors. It is non existent on fuel injected cars.

Alot of times the term is used interchangeably. I dont think it really matters either way people get what you are talking about.

yeah a blower is an s/c but modern cars won't get the big three butterfly blower sticking out of the hood.

Here's some good read: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/supercharger.htm
A turbocharger is the most efficient of the forced induction systems. Next efficient is the centrifugal supercharger, which is basiclly a mechanically driven turbo. Next in line are the screw drive positive displacement blowers like the Autorotor, Whipple, and KB. Last in the efficiency line are the roots positive displacement blowers. Turbos and centrifugal superchargers build boost. Positive displacement blowers hit full boost as soon as you slam the throttle.

Call me biased cause I live in KC (Home of Procharger) but I believe them to be the best S/Cer on the market. Fairly easy to intall and a D series is nearly infinatly expandable upon. Makes makin more power kinda easy. My 2 Abe Lincolns
