supercharger

to my understand, there are a great number of superchargers out there on the market. Paxton, Vortech, and so on. I was looking for a centrifugal supercharger... but, it doesnt HAVE to be one. The largest thing that is holding me back, is expense. What is the cheap(est) supercharger set up out there? and will it work on my 99 3.8 mustang?

-oh, by the way.. the camshaft installation would cost me way too much and i dont want to mess with internals myself. So, im looking at FI.

It depends. Personal preference is everything. Theres a guy I just came across with a V6 that installed a 03-04 Cobra Eaton supercharger. So it is indeed possible for anything to happen.

Cost wise? Its where you look and if you have "hookups". Ebay, junkyards, classifieds... Its where you look and how in depth your search is. Me? I read about a guy who bought a twin turbo set up off a used 5.0 and it works wonders on his V6. If I go the same route as him? Ill be good to go. I recently found a guy selling twin turbos off a 5.0 for 500 bucks the pair from California. =]

He just needs to email me back in a hurry. lol

Procharger is the best IMO since they come with a intercooler. A procharger setup would be around 4 grand installed and tuned, and if you don't want forged internals i wouldn't push it over 7psi, maybe nine with a good solid tune.

Only problem I see here.

Your not going to make boost for a grand your going to either have a super cheap setup thats going to hurt the car, or leave something out that will end up being vital. I would spend under 4k to put a forced induction system on a car.

you can find a nice s/c for about 3.5-4k you would have to be lucky to find a s/c for less than that even used. I am thinking about s/c mine next year if i can still afford it

yeah, well, that's my major problem... money... otherwise, i'd have my 6 built up already. everyone tells me "drop that shitty 6 and get a gt... but why a gt? whats so special? if im going to get something else, im going for the cobra and getting it over with. and besides, i'd rather stick with my 6... i love being the under dog who strives to prevail.
