Look man .. just pull your foot out of your mouth .. its ok if you want to turbo your V6 just don't try and throw BS at me ... A turbo V6 is fine .. it will get you running mid 12's which is quick .. but way too common in the forced induction world .. my goal is to have a DD 10 sec mustang that looks as good as it runs .. therefore I'm gonna havea built v8 and T trim blower b/c I don't want to spend a million dollars building up a V6 ..

I'm done so don't look for any more replies ...

As a V-8 owner, I hate people ragging on other engines. I know that GreenFaleens V-6 can rape my car. Granted its stock and about 32 years older. But I have been with him in the car/at the drag strip and seen him run with and beat Gt's. He has videos if you don't believe me.

First off none of those cars you showed me were within 250 hp of what you said they were .. the top dyno sheet was around 500 rwhp

2nd ...

Are you serious ?

Minus the Wheel Tire set up .. its no probelm .. my buddy has a 96 GT ran 9.36 at Pinks all out this weekend in Rockingham with a 1.3. 60' foot and drove the car there. He's got a T Trim running 25 lbs of boost spraying down the intercooler with N20. So there's no reason a 10 sec street car can't be legal ..

Look I grew up in Concord NC .. the racing capital of the world .. one thing i've been around is alot of guys wanting to go fast ... I'm not saying im the smartest guy here .. cause I'm not .. I just know that I am a smart guy and listen and learn .. and unlike alot of people I do my research !!! ...

I will have a very street legal 10 sec car and I'll drive up to Raleigh and take you for a ride when I get done ; )

No I said capable of 750hp that is what the turbos can go up to if you wish to run that set up. And a 9 sec 96 gt is a built car I mean extremely built I would love to see pics of the engine just to gawk at lol. I am not saying v8's are not easier to mod, but price for price he will see better gains from a turbo and spending the same on a v8 swap then FI. And SSMS has a 9 sec. v6 with under 300 hp (something around 500 with spray) so both are just a easy and efficient to build, and when I said good luck I meant it a friendly gesture it will be a hard build, and I am wishing you luck. Also did you attend pinks all out I tried to make it but it snowed in Lenoir

im tellin ya'll are talking about 400, 500, and 750hp+, i've been in plenty of 300whp cars, my two favorite are my buddies 2004 gt (about 290-300whp) and a buddy from the crystler shop with a Pt Cruiser Gt (300-310whp) anyway my point is if i get 300-350whp that would be plenty for me for sure, we need to take into account how many hp he is looking to gain, im pretty sure he doesnt want 750hp lol. so v8 vs v6 would depend on desired hp gains for now and future.

Well yeah but both engines are capable of the power I mean 400 hp is a lot. Plus the 3.8 block is stronger.

i do know swaps are a pain in the ass, but if someone does it for you then its on there hands to make it work. in my honest opinion id keep the v6 and work with it, plus all his gains dont have to be all at once.

You seem like a smart person. I like you and I have never met you. Does that make you feel weird?

I think that makeing a slow car fast is more of an achivement than going out and buying a gt 500 just to beat everyone else. I want to turbo the v6. I want to be able to show off my work and what i have done. I dont want to be like look at my new bright and shiny car. I want to show what what i can do not what i can buy.

well I am about to turbo my car. I'll get pics of the install and everything, but it is going to run me close to 16grand to get 400 safe horsepower to the rearwheels. I am getting either a TMA kit or (more than likely) a custom shop built sts rear mount system at 14-16psi, a moser 8.8 rearend with 31 spline upgrade and a eaton lsd, a lentech AOD transmission with 3400rpm stall good for 750 hp, machined and rebuilt block, APR studs and bolts, and full forged internals, performance gaskets, and a 6point roll bar.

umm I made a proposal and 97stanger and State Farm are sponsoring me for almost 20 grand, and I just have to advertise state farm on my car, and represent them at any drag event I go to.
