Yes sir... I pretty much outlined exactly this in the other thread lol...
In a turbo car w/ an atmospheric BOV, if its not tuned properly, it causes a super rich scenario in between shifts. I'm sure you know what the differances, besides the obvious, are between recirculating and atmospheric BOV's, so I'l spare ya...

You are releasing metered air when you go to the atmosphere if your car is not converted to blow through...Which means the MAF has already added the fuel for that air and you are letting it out...
My car's bov is not that loud...Which does not matter to me becuase my supercharger screams... Just stay with the pull through and dont worry about the sound... Just get a good reciculted set-up and you will be happy... If you want I will have my Greddy Type-S bov WITH Flange set-up for recirculation for sale in like a week...Shoot me a PM if interested... |

right but the question is not about the richness of the various setups, its asking about losing boost with a s/c car as opposed to maybe keeping some of it with a closed loop system. the fuel factor is obvious. however i would think the s/c with a bov would be slower because the s/c probly wont rebuild that boost as quickly as a turbo car would.

how so? the BOV activates when the throttle shuts closed so its not pushing that un-used boost back to the turbo or S/C

right the bov would release it where the bypass would dump it back into the system (altough with some loss). wouldnt the bypass setups allow the s/c car to maintain or at least build boost a little faster than what a bov'd car would with a supercharger

This is why most turbo cars with BOVs have flames comeing out the tailpipe. The rich scenario causes unburned fuel to excape into the exhuast where the heat ignites it as it flows out back. |

how can it build more boost on a supercharger if its running all the time? thats why they call it a blower, it only blows so much air and Stang, i love the flames that shoot out my exhaust, yea it can be bad, but its cool
