Don't Buy Granatelli!

DON’T BUY GRANATELLI!!!! Read this before purchasing anything made by Granatelli Motor Sports. I bought a Granatelli cold air kit for my 2007 Mustang GT (the one that comes with it’s own MAF sensor). I carefully installed it, and got check engine lights. Granatelli had me send back the calibration harness and sent me a new one. I installed it again, same thing happens again! I call them up and they tell me the cold air kit just doesn’t work with some vehicles and that I will get a full refund. I ship it back to the vendor (this is what they told me to do), and the vendor calls me and tells me they can’t refund my money because the kit is used. Well duh! I had to install it to find out it didn’t work (what is this, a Dilbert cartoon?). Long story short, they ship it back to Granatelli who now tells me they are charging a restocking fee to the vendor. The vendor then of course is charging me a 20% restocking fee!!! I tell Grantelli that they told me I’d be getting a full refund. They deny this and also deny telling me that the kit doesn’t work with some cars. This is total BS!!! Never buy anything from Grantelli, you’ll be sorry!

Court won't do anything. All you can do is go to civil court and not to mention Granatelli is in a different state than you so there inlies another problem. You would spend WAY too much $$ going to court, and that's without a lawyer. I would be more upset with the vendor! Who was it?? That's who ultimately screwed you. Granatelli CAN'T deal with you. It would be a breach of contract with the vendor.

+1 with TurboLX. You should have reflashed your car with an SCT or Diablo. The 05-07's are really sensitive to mods and CEL's. My frind installed a CAI and a muffler both from steeda and his CEL went off. So he HAD to buy an SCT. Sucks bro, but you got gyped!

You are probably tripping a service light due to the extra air, probably need a reflash of the computer, simple fix.

We told this guy we wanted to help. He could not get a refund (full refund) from the guy he purchased from so he blames GMS. I can;t give a guy money back for something he never purchased from me. I do agree we sent this guy 2 harnesses and neither worked - we have a 98% success rate but there are a few toughys out there. In any case he purchase this from Scott Beer of Diablo - he could have easily got a reflash but somehow chose not to. We never wanted this guy to fell screwed by GMS but our hands were tied. He tried to go to our local BBB and they said the same thing - the beef is not with GMS - it is with the company you purchased from.

Sorry

Everybody is quick to blame the product but rarely is the product at fault....

I have some GMS products... They all have worked great for me... Kind of makes me think about all of the half-assed installs I have seen on lots of performance parts. Every time I deal with one, it is always " the part doesn't fit", or " It doesn't work right!"
I have never once heard " I sure jacked this up by not following the directions! ! !"

LOL! ! !

Hmmm, lets blame a credible aftermarket parts manufacturer, who happens to have a long history in successful dragracing, and who has helped so many people with their hobby.. just because you couldnt take the time to read instructions, or maybe talk to someone whos installed a CAI before? Maybe you should take a step back, and look at how its possible that YOU are the problem. You should know, that anytime you "modify" a car from its original state, you may run into issues. Its the nature of aftermarket parts, and anyone whos been in this hobby for any length of time, knows this all to well. Ive used GMS products for years, and i have had no problems with vendors or even GMS themselves. Dont blame GMS because you cant get your act together.

Lets not forget that the Granatelli name goes back further than GMS........much further. That family created the Paxton supercharger that we all know and love before any of us on this site were born.
