whats the worst

thing that could possibly happen if you install a fuel pump in your car and find out its from the wrong year. i am just now realizing that the holley intank fuel pump i installed a couple of years ago in my 98 gt is actually for a 96-97 gt. i wonder if thats why i cant get the horsepower out of it the i am assuming that i should have. if anyone has any information regarding this matter please dont hesitate to respond. thanks

it could be your problem. you can use a newer style pump in an older car but not the other way around like in your case.

+1 above. You can use newer to older. You need to replace it to get better performance. Check out autopartswarehouse.com they have detailed infos about the part you need.
