Supercharger maintance?

Ive been thinking bout gettin a Procharger since its easy to install (no oil lines to run). However I would then need to do a seperate oil change for the procharger. How often does the oil need to be change and what kinda of oil is needed? If I got say a Novi that used the engine oil does the s/c wear the oil like a turbo? Does it wear more than with out and can you run synthetic with a s/c? I know trubos can burn up oil, but the s/c doesnt get as hot correct? Im wondering if while a Novi s/c would be harder to install it would be easier to maintain over the long run, having to only change the engine oil, instead of the engine and supercharger oil. BTW my car is a dd so its gets some decent milage,TIA.

I dont know about Prochargers, but on my Kenne Bell oil should be changed every 12000 miles.

Before i decided to go with KB i liked the Vortech systems just because it uses engine oil. To me it makes more sense, as i change oils quite often so it stays fresh. Synthetic works great. I dont think that centris burn the oil like turbos, because theres no exhaust temperature.

Prochargers need to be changed every 6000 miles. Oil can only be bought from procharger, I think it is around 20 bucks for 3 or 4 bottles. It takes almost one bottle per change. Changing it is not that bad, I usea funnel with a hose and it was not a problem.

It's really easy to change the oil on a ProCharger. I put paper towels over the belt so that oil splatter won't get on it or the pulleys and drain the oil without a funnel. I upgraded my warranty to three years for $75 and they sent me 6 bottles of oil at no additional charge so it will be a while before I have to buy oil. I've been changing oil every 5,000 miles (they recommend 6,000).

Be careful to not overfill the unit. Don't use the entire bottle. Use the dipstick to determine if the unit is full which leaves about an ounce still left in the bottle. If you overfill the unit, oil seaps out of the fill plug. It doesn't hurt anything but its a bit messy.
