DIY foxbody twin turbo build


87 5.0, GT40 Irons, Performer Intake, AOD

Turbos: Garret T3 "50" trim .42/.48 A/R

now thats funny, got the pipes sealed up as much as i can for now, i guess the final test will be when they go on the car, got any ideas on rigging up something to pressure test them? I really dont want to wrap/coat the parts before i know their sealed.

When you gonna come over and tap my.....pan......

cap one side and put air in there and put the pipe under water. Maybe a fitting for the air hose.

i guess i gotta find a way to cap it off, for the cold side pipe i should be able to find a silicone cap and just use a valve stem or something

iits high temp "header" paint from advanced auto, in aluminum color.

anybody thing the power steering line would have a problem being like that, im gonna zip tie it in place, Im trying to keep it off the downpipe, i dont think it would like that too much :wink

icantdo55 is coming over tomorrow to help tap the pan. if all goes well it will be running soon.

I am assuming that you are wraping/sleeving your plug wires too?

you mean there not already heat protected? dam lol, yea i gotta get some of the sleeving stuff, really only 2 plugs need it and the coil wire, its gonna lay right on the header haha. still need some air filters too

Hey got a mod for you on pressure testing your whole system. I use it on mine. go to home depot and get some pcv piping one strip about a foot or so long and cut in half cap one end off with pcv cal and cap the other one too. on one of the ends drill and screw in a air compressor adapter. Then clamp in at each end of the system(ex. from where pipe starts from intake to all the way back to the rear). Great way to test clamps soapm up and also listen for hisses with no car running its a breeze. With my STS was great at finding leaks in the exhaust. Warning tho pressurize slowly with air compressor. If you need help let me know. Ill be around this weekend and can show you how to make one. Cant wait to see your beast run. I need to talk to you also Twist about a good build on a t5

i found some rubber pvc end caps that i used. and just jb welded a valve stem into the end of one. was able to test to 16psi before the cap blew off lol.

My wont blow off if ever interested. I can use mine on yours. I ve taken mine all the way up to 25 and dont blow nothing. I can bring it over some time. Love to see this setup.
