A ricer 2 me is a person with a 4cyl that has an exhaust and intake on his car but his buddy has a 300hp import and brags about how his buddy beats slow mustangs but wont run his own car because his has nothing himself. I dont care what u drive if your is faster and your a better driver than u win! and any car can beat n e car depends on income or if mommy and daddy help out well unless if u drive a tempo or mercury topaz lol! Give respect where respect is due!
(But I would never give up a V8 for a 6cyl or 4cyl).

I always regarded any Japanese import, car or bike, a "ricer". Not as a derogatory term just to distinguish it from American made. For example I refer to my 04' Yamaha VMax as a "riceburner" and not in a bad way as it will smoke Harleys, including VRods all day long. Just my .02, not trying to be racist or anything. I do appreciate Japanese efficiency with regard to motorcycles, but am a diehard Ford mustang enthusiast. I guess I'm a little schizo.

Dude I agree with you in the sense that a car from Japan or some other place that is considered to have a population of Asian ethnicity to me is rice. Because even though it is in a way racistly founded that is how I distinguish those foreign cars from domestic ones even though I am not trying to use it or emply with it that I am using it in a racist fashion. I simply call them rice because (and here comes the racist/stereotyping part of this rant) staple (or main food in a reginon) in Asian countrys is rice and that is where I'm sure the term came from wether it was used first on cars, bikes, airplanes or whatever I don't know or care. I also agree that the foreign companys car efficeny and unique and individual design is pretty cool I still hold favoritism with American makes just because there American nothing against the foreigners just I wish to support the American tradition of our cars. And heres something to think about over there they probably have there own nickname for our cars like French Friers or something (which by the way french fries are American and have nothing at all to do with France just like french toast).

I consider any Asian made car to be rice. Even if it is fast and can smoke mine, then its just fast rice.

As for American 4 cyl cars with bad body kits and such, I don't call them rice. I do call the driver a ricer though b/c he got his ideas from the fast and the furious, and his last car was probably a honda.

Ricers are Japanese cars that have fart cans, stickers, body kits, NOS!, wings, guage pods with no turbos, cut springs, ect.

Also guys that think their car that is designed to get 35mpg is a race car, copy Fast&Furious movies, hang out in parking lots with all their other ricer friends..... that reminds me, I need to take a picture of a ricer group here in memphis and they all hang out in random parking lots thinking they are in a car show and the fastest car out of all of them is a Honda S2000 with exhaust and intake.
