Powerstroke + programmer =s helmet

I know that this isn't really the right forum for this but i just got back from the track and i'm stoked !! As some of you may know i got a used 04 superduty with a powerstroke. I took it to the track last friday and ran a 16.70 @ exactly 80 mph with a 2.3 60 ft ( leaving in 4 wd ). Well i got a diablosport predator programmer and installed the 100 hp tune ( 198 lb of torque ) and all i can say is WOW !!!! i made one pass and smoked all 4 tires and aborted the run. Next pass i launched a little easier ( again in 4wd ) with a hint of wheel spin ( all 4 wheels ) and man that thing pulled like a freight train , especially for a near 9,000 lb truck. I go to get my timeslip and the guy at the booth looks at the timeslip, looks at my truck, looks at slip again, hands it ot me and says uhhh you need a helmet. The grin on my face stretched from ear to ear cause i knew that it meant i had run 13s. The timeslip confirmed it 13.88 @ 95.78 mph with a 1.922 60 ft. I woulda been satisfied with a low 15 so needless to say i'm lovin that turbo diesel !!!!!!! Thanks for readin.

That is pretty cool, I'd be interested to see what you run without the 4wd engaged.

the truck peg legs pretty bad, i've tried to leave some black marks twice and it'll only spin the passengers side tire. soon as i saw it doing that i quit trying. It'll spin both in the snow tho. Anyway i have to use 4wd , to get some traction, without it i'd be lucky to run 17s .

yeah i keep hearing horror stories about the 6.0 . i've got the 60 horse tune in it now and i'm done racing at the track. i hope the truck lasts because i've still got 4 years of payments left so i can't fix anything if it breaks.

Nice, the diesels REALLY like tuning! With just a tuner you can as much extra hp as adding a blower on a mustang! All for <$400!

Cant wait to put a tune on my 97 PSD and straight pipe it with a 3.5 inch down pipe....

but just FYI, your truck doesnt weigh 9000 pounds, but legally can hold 9000 pounds or so... you would probably tip the scales at around 6200 like my truck does. Its too bad you have the 6.0 too, they are not know for longevity!

Or an EGT gauge if you run the max power tune.

good idea also. you might also want to look into a high quality shovel, with a 6.0 you'll need it eventually so may as well have it on hand. . not just talking b/s, I'm a truck mechanic & see 6.0 disaster's on a regular basis. best advice? sell the tuner & leave it alone. you might want to look into an egr delete though (in that case you'll need the tuner) it will plug up & leave you stranded.
