Trap times for stock New Edgers..

I've been told by a Celica owner that STOCK NewEdgers wont trap past 99mph in the 1/4

WTF? I've seen them regularly do 100-110.

Am I smoking ganga, or is he?

I could very well be mistaken, but I don't think so.

I'm going to say about 100 stock. The time slip you posted on the Celica is NOT a New Edge w/ a few bolt ons (the left lane). You're going to need more than just full bolt-ons to get 12.5.

I doubt the car in the right lane is a stock New Edge either. Typically they're low 14s and it takes a really good driver to get them into 13s stock.

99-100 stock
103-106 modded with gears
110 + with cams, spray, or boost.

I've seen many stock GTs get into the high 13s stock. *shrug*

My elevation isn't wonky either. Weird.

I was told (not here on this forum) it wasn't POSSIBLE for a stock New Edge to trap above 99/100 mph in the 1/4

I know that's wrong because I've seen it myself.

around 99-100 stock

wouldn't say its impossible for them to trap 101 stock...would need good air.

I'm not saying it's impossible to get into the high 13s stock. I've seen it as well but I believe the average is low 14s.

The time sheet you posted on the other forum claiming stock New Edge time of 13.5 is BS, IMO.

Hmm I don't remember posting any time sheet that was a stang with 13.5. That WHOLE THREAD was BS. I have a friend that asked me to put a little e-thug in his place. Been asking me for like, 4 months now. I finally went over there to see what was up. Kid was going around smacking on everyone's car, and just plain out being an ass to everyone. Obviously no one has ever put him in his place. So yeah, lots of what I said was bullshit, but I really don't care about that particular site. Said kid got his ass handed to him, and it was funny as all get out.

His comment was that it wasn't POSSIBLE for a stock GT to trap higher than 99-100 in the 1/4. I exaggerated a bit, bit I don't recall posting a slip that said a stock GT was doing 13.5..

Said kid owns a modded SRT-4, and goes around calling other people's rides junk..

Later on in the thread I admitted that I exaggerated a bit, but that he was still wrong. I've personally seen stock GTs trap at 103-104.

I RARELY act like that anymore. Honed my skillz on IRC back in the day. Maybe the kid will be a bit more apprehensive before he starts talking shit again.

I had about 12 pvt messages from various forum members LOVING the fact that the kid was getting smacked down so hard. That someone was beating him at his own game. In the end I apologized to the forum for derailing a kid's thread. The OP told me not to worry, that he actually enjoyed seeing the turd get what was coming to him for a long long time.

So it's all good.

I don't want you thinking I am trying to push that stuff off I said as fact. LAWLZ

I am not like that, I promise.

Mine trapped 98 stock. 103 was my best full boltons (programmer, udp, orx, catback, plenum, tb, intake). minus gears and longtubes. Im sure with them it'd had went 105ish.

I have seen people that have gotten slower 1/4 times have higher trap times. It's weird how it worked out. Shitty 60ft times and all.

haha u sure they weren't 3v's??

i find this VERY hard to believe and i seriously doubt it was a stock 2v if it was trapping 103+. our cars just don't trap that stock. nor have i EVER even heard of it.

I trapped 99.3-99.7 every pass I made stock. With a catback and good tires ran 13.98@99.41 stock...it's possible. I've never seen a stock new edge break the 100 mark personally

in conversation's like this you MUST define what you mean by stock at the begining. the responses you'll get otherwise will not get you the info your looking for. stock to me is as it sits on the dealers lot, no mod's, period. that being said, very unlikely to break 100 mph in my version of stock.

Never said it was a good run. I've seen people trap higher with suckier runs. I've seen people run slower than 13.9 track at a higher MPH.. I am guessing they had a traction problem. Never did I see one trapping above a 100 that had a good run..
It's odd that someone can run a 13.9@100 and another 13.9@103. Even though the latter has a faster "trap" time, the first had a better run.

umm ok...i said nothing about the run

i don't believe it REGARDLESS of whether it was a good run or not. regardless of a good sixty foot or not. our cars just don't trap 103+. not stock.

and not to mention it makes no sense for a stock gt to pull off 13.9 with a "bad" run...so that would mean it could run a mid 13 stock when it got a "good" run? also never heard of a mid 13 stock.

It took me all it had to get 103 out of mine full bolton. And i embarassed a many stock gt's on the street and a bunch of bolton ones with 3.73s, hell i ran my buddy down with 4.10s and the same mods. He trapped 100.

you aren't gonna get alot of good info off of a forum. the only way to get "real world" info is in the real world. long story short............go to the track & see for yourself.
