Why do so many have a bone 2 pick with the mustang?

Everytime I go out I swear someone comes zooming pass me or reving there engine in some cases even following me I dont street race n e more after I toataled my 5.0! Heres what happened last friday this guy in this GLI pull on my rear with his car passes me and the light was turning yellow so he stopped and he says all bark no bite reffering 2 the fact that my flowmaster drowns his sound out completely I say well lets find out light turns green he floors it screeching tires smoke and all!... me I just drove off normal.. 5 seconds later the boys n blue pulled him over That was great he was so pissed off I drove back around like five times just 2 rub it n I would of killed him n e way but not on the streets to dangerous! But the moral of the story is why do people wanna try mustangs and only post videos of mustangs getting beat they say mustangs are slow but they always compare there cars too mustang so if they suck why do people always wanna race them just venting from an argument with a guy I ran into at the gas station who told me his girlfriend has a mustang and I yelled back so you should be used to coming in second place, he had a nice lookin GTP tho!

It's wierd, the mustang is always the one car that everyone likes to compare their cars to. whether it be imports or domestic.

He was a good sport and laughed it off but I really think that I might of hurt his ego because his girlfriend laughed at him when I said that!

In addition to the legacy of the Mustang, most cars are always compared against the Mustang when discussing performance.

Any fighter (or wannabe fighter) is always going to want to challenge the "base line".

I hate it when people ask why Mustang people think their cars are fast, the obvious answer is because they are fast

Everybody always thinks their car is the fastest, especially when you are younger or have not had a lot of experience driving different cars, and they will go out of their way to try to prove it to you. It's just a male macho thing, and I think we have all been there at some point in our life. Once you drive a really fast car, or have your ass handed to you by one, you settle down a little bit I think, and realize that there is always someone faster, and that the streets are not the place for racing.

The Mustang is the yard stick which many measure their car by. Funny, I don't get many people challenging me on the street. I have had a couple of Vettes and occationallly a ricer or two. For the most part, I get a big thumbs up.

Well I was actually referring to the people that were asking Mustang people why they think their cars are fast. If Mustang people didn't already know their cars were fast then they wouldn't have bought the Mustang to begin with.

Sorry for the confusion.

not to hate on mustangs but they are the bottom of the sports car. modded gt's lose to WS6's, but once you get into the saleen, roush, and cobras then its a different story.

Well yeah I would hope so bieng that the 99-04 GT's only have about 240 to the wheels and a WS6 has around 320 but i've seen mach 1's out run WS6's and it depends on the rate of modification for the GT tame, mild ,or heavily modified GT a mild to heavily modded GT will beat a WS6 a tame which to me is a exhaust and a CAI no that wont beat a WS6!

and by the way WS6's are lovely cars id have to say!
