it will be close. GTO are not that fast for the power they have. they are heavy. Do a dig. They cant really hook. I raced one and it was a 5.7 and it was not that big a difference. From a dig i would prob get him in a 1/4. it was an auto too.

I can beat them to 60 feet on the track, and it's close at the 1/8th, but then they just pull away on the last half of the track. These are the cars that I'm gunning for at the track, as I do little tweaks to the car ...

Interchangeable as well. Only the '06 came with the blacked out tail lights. Both the '05 (non-blacked) and the '06 (blacked tail lights) have the LS2. Once again, you guys are placing far too much emphasis on the 6.0 vs the 5.7. Most of the '04 cars are going to be modded, just bolt-ons equal or surpass the 6.0 in horsepower/torque.

No I didn't. If you can mod the ls1 with boltons and make as much as the ls2 why couldn't you mod the ls2 and make more than the ls1 with the same mods?

Yeah, you did. My point is that it takes very little to surpass the LS2 in terms of power/torque, and that people place too much emphasis on the 5.7 vs the 6.0. Such as, "it's the 5.7 so I should smoke it by 2 lengths, but if it's the 6.0, I'll get smoked."

Im not impressed with the stock 04 GTO's, a friend of mine has one and was running 14.4's-14.2's bone stock, just not that fast, about as fast as a stock Mustang GT, although we put on a full exhaust system and got a good tune and hes down to 13.0 all day long...best way to find out is to race him...
