haha suppose it depends on the transmission but many many of the automatic ls1 gto's only run high 13's...you should definitely have that.
roll is a different story.

do it from a dig, and try not to spin. those cars are heavy hogs, like 4000lbs. he has more motor, but u may have a chance.

3300lbs vs 3775lbs
But it's still not enough he'll lose.

It's gonna take more than gears, cai, and a tune to beat a GTO. Maybe if you caused him to get into an accident, then maybe you would beat him but that wouldn't be very fair would it.

ive wondered the same thing myself since theres a yellow one just down the road myself. i know i wont beat him with my nPI 96GT but once i do my PI conversion it might be a pretty good race (i dont really know tho)

I couldn't beat one unless I built my lower end and the rearend, then turbo'ed my lil 6er. Lol But I'll gladly watch on the sidelines. Damn I need a faster car.

It's certainly possible to beat him with your car/mods. Is it an auto/m6? If an m6 what kind of driver is he? Launching these cars is a bit tricky esp. with an M6 with the IRS. Beating him might be easier than you think...just don't run from 60mph on, third is known as the "freight train gear."

The '05 '06 GTO's came with the dual exhaust and "fake" ram air hood. It's all interchangeable on '04-'06 so the best bet is to look if it has 6.0 or 5.7 on the rear of the car. Either way, both the LS1 and the LS2 (in the GTO) make the same power beyond bolt-ons.
