Look at it from the officers point of view. There's a Mustang w/ slicks on and a rice burner Civic next to each other. All of a sudden the Mustang down shifts to 2nd going 40mph (that's not a "I need to speed up to make this light" that's a "I'm accelerating like a bat out of hell") and accelerates and it's followed by the Civic doing the same thing. Sorry, but it CLEARLY looks like a race to the officer.

One of many you will get comes with owning anything thats remotley fast but get a lawyer trust me here Mia cops are waiting on every corner. I have a three page record and still have my license why because I went to court every time to fight. Out of all my tickets in the three pages only one was legit ticket all other were complete bull shit from pos pigs.

i dont understand how that is a race though if the ricer blew your doors? i would tell the cop that ur car can do a lot better than that against a honda and that you can prove it haha lol just kidding..and if u had straight slicks on, not dot approved tires i am surprised he didnt write u a ticket for that.. Its against the law to run race slicks on the street lol

Your are correct but thats just as illegal as having tvs, air bags, or hydros which all of those are more unsafe when it comes compared to slicks. Especially since the people who have air bags and hydros are showing the world they dont know jack shit about driving and dont know what cars are really ment for. Except maybe the tvs cuz I have one and with a back up camera you can watch out for cops which is only added advantage for racing or you can also see the loser on tv lol.

I lucked out with a situation like this, but I didn't downshift or anything. The guy at the light next to me burned his tires off the line and I was driving like normal, laughing because I saw blue lights coming behind us and knew he was gonna get nailed for being an idiot.

Then the cop pulled me over. I explained my situation, he believed me (rightfully so) and I was on my merry way, advised to watch out for stupid people thinking I'd want to race them.

I hope you get this thing lowered in degree- sure, you downshifted to second, but it wasn't like you smoked your tires or stayed in it. I think the cop was just looking to get a buzzkill out of it, but since you weren't racing, and he couldn't prove it, his buzzkill failed and decided to fuck you up otherwise.

Wow, that seems harsh. Caught the cop on a bad day....I knew a few people, including myself that have got off with a slap on the wrist.

But I've been there. I got caught racing on 41 coming back from the drag strip, it will slow you down for awhile.

I see in your signature that you have a boat with some power, so do I. What kind of speed boat do you have?

I currently have a 33' Eliminator Daytona w/ twin M4 Procharged 557s (they make about 1150hp each) in it. Its good for about 140mph+...
