but the cam and bore will put me at more hp then he has stock. plus my other mods. the guy i talked to told me to do the 30 over bore and a cam instead of switchin out for a 4.2 cause id make the same power, and it would save me a dick load of time and money.

yea but you gotta remember, sn 95 gt's were the slowest gt stangs to come outta the factory. i think ill get em, or hang right with him...they came with 225 stock and he's got a few bolt ons.....and claims 375......bull!@#$...plus i cant afford the engine and work involved in the 4.2, just isnt gonna happen.

still...

225(plus bolt ons)
>150ish...
a cam and a bore doesn't add that much horsepower.. and he will also have the TQ advantage

if you bought some spray which is WAY cheaper than a bore and stroke plus a cam you would get him no problem

yea im not putting nitrous on a car with 119k miles...you forgot to mention the work i would have to do to get the engine to handle a decent shot. but his claims of 375 and stomping lt1 vettes is a bunch of bullshit. i dont care what anyone says.

your block should handle nitrous no problem. it is stronger than the GT block for so!

just run a good kit and you would be fine.

yea and i bet that 375 is b.s. too.

Yeah I think you'll lose. But on a side note: If he didn't swap in the PI heads, he won't be making over 300whp. He's probably in the 260-70 range at best.

vette's had both LT1's and LS1's. in 1996 the lt1 had 300hp or the grand sports 6spds has 330 with the LT4. The only vettes that kid is running with are ones from 8 to 8something. Im not to sure on when chevy finally figured out how to use fuel injection, but when they did the numbers jumped a good amount. there arent enough bolt ons in the world that can get the 96-98's past 260-270, short of a power adder, turbo, nos, sprchrgr. If you have gears, and can drive the crap out of your car, maybe you could pace a 90's vette, but anything past 97 your gonna need to throw 10 grand into your motor. Kids full of crap. I say race him, you lose you lose, he's got and 8 and u got a 6, but if you win, well that means you outdrove him without a doubt. And all that means is your ready for an eight, or power adder. Even if you lose i doubt your gonna loose by much, that is, if you can drive or u drive an automatic. just make sure ur overdrive is off, i made that mistake once in a camaro. Ooops
