How wide can I go on stock rims for a 1988 GT, and what is the best drag radial you all recommend?

i third the motion for the M/T DR's if you are going to run it at the track only. i have heard that for a daily driver, M/T's will not last very long. I swear by the BFG DR's. i used those on my daily driver and they worked really well at the track. the wear wasn't too bad at all. just remember, DR's+rain=bad news...

what size rim do the 88's have?

i had them(mt e/t streets) on my 97 s/c cobra. and i drove it daily and of course they didnt last as long as a reg tire but i think i got somehing like 15k out of them. and they werent that bad in the rain. but you did have to be careful. but ive heard good things of the bfg but ill stivk with the m/t!

Nitto's are the best overall daily driver drag radial IMO, a world of difference over stock although they don't hook as good as BFG's or MT's -but they last alot longer.

I have the Nittos and can't seem to get them to hook. I may not be doing enough of a burnout. First time out it was pretty cold and we were waiting 45 minutes to an hour between runs.
