i didnt' read all the posts, but with a set of welds , dragradials ( worn out ) and 373s i ran a 13.79 @ 100 mph in a clapped out 89 hatch that i paid 1000 for ( over 160,000 miles , original engine too ) i've seen some quick newer modulars and they are to be respected but all i've got to say is that unless you have a cobra enjoy those powered metal connecting rods while they last !!!!

Adding a little fuel to the fire..... lol
1) I have yet to loose against a N/A stock longblock 302. The only ones that give me a run are H/C/I. 2) Show me 1 foxbody'd 302 running 11's N/A with stock H/C/I. Aint gonna happen. <--- zips up flame suit.

There is one guy with an 89 5.0 that races at Barona, which is a 1/8 mile track. No major mods. he removed the back and passenger seat, removed the A.C, installed a stall converter and is running slicks. He gets mid to high 8s. His corrected times are actually low to mid 8s.

So I guess this means my car should be faster than either a 93 or a 2000 because I have a 93 body with a 2000 4.6 in it. Therefore I have more power than a 93 in a ligher car than the 2000. |
