a little question about a 460

Im about to buy a 76' F100 with a built 460 in it. ported and polished, cammed, head work...all the good stuff other than a supercharger lol. anybody know if running it on the highway for long periods of time will hurt it? guy im buying it off of says at 75mph itll be around 3300 rpms. seems pretty high but from what i hear its a pretty tough motor

It will be ok but it will need some rest time to time . . . like drive stay drive stay.
Than you will be to your destination at the dawn . . . lolz
Why you are not buying supercharger ?

Actually supercharger are not important like the engine or transmission,in F-100 Pickup , But Supercharger plays a vital role to get the full Ford F-100 Pickup driving effect.Supercharger is nothing more than a large air pump that can provide greater than atmospheric pressure (boost) to an Engine. So also try to buy Supercharger. All other things are good..

won't hurt it a bit, just make sure it has good thick oil in it. I have a 78 that I swapped a 460 into several years back that I run rottella 15w40 in. Truck runs about 3000 doing 75mph and I pretty much just use that truck to go hunting, camping, wheeling and snow plowing so that motor lives around 3k all the time. One of the best engines ever made and by far the toughest big blocks around!! Old engine builder I know says it's got the toughest internals you'll find in a stock gasser and his favorite engine to build, he is a chevy guy!
