Theres some kid at my school talking smack, hes got the 350 camaro and i keep telling him its a piece because its like an 83 or somewhere along them lines. idk exactly what year it is. im not goin to race him till i get my full bolt ons.

Another kid has an older(80 something, not hte new body but the one after that)....He's gotta 305 in his and hes talking smack. The 305 is pretty worn down tho.

My question is should i race the kid with the 305 or wait till i get my gears, tuner, and exhaust?

305 can be lethal if its an IROC at least the early ninteys run mid 14s a 305 non i roc you can take and a 350 if its not a Z28 you might be able to run but with gears you can probally take both without gears the 350 will probally beat you

i dont think its the IROC. how can i tell by just looking at it? thats what i keep teling the kid in the 350 that once i get my new axle(cuz im putting in an 8.8 and putting 4.10's in the rear while its out) but he doesnt believe me that a V6 will kick his ass.

Well he repainted this thing and the paint job looks sick as hell but theres notta sticker there so idk. he keeps asking me if i want to race but i dont want to get my ass handed ot me by a damn slomaro

like i said if its not an IROC, the IROCs sport the 305 and they move pretty good but early 80s are pretty much dogs anyway around it

there are about 225-230 HP

they put out a little better than what your crank HP is 195ish.

you'll need a little more than that to beat him.

if he has exhaust intake, tuner,gears w/tlock, the diffrent rear. on a 99 up i have a feeling he can take him. if its manuel no prob. and if the camaros stock that makes a big diffrence you can get 350s quick fairly easily

ahh well that engine is all beat to hell so i dont think its actually pushing htat. and this kid drives like an old grandma. i NEVER see him get on it but i dont want to lose to the kid cuz he never shuts up. aight well if the 305 asks to race i'll tell you what happens...

my cars manual and i dont think anything is done to eihter cars. the 305 spent all his money on the paint job and the 350 doesn't have much money so we'll see.

IROC's aren't shit, I murder them, neither should be a big problem, if the 350 is a new drop and has a good bit of money in it you might want to be a bit timid, they only GM engines that really make me think "thats fast" is the ls series, and the 454.

Most of the RS(really slow) camaros from the old days. I beat a guy in a 350 like 80model when i just had exhaust and a small header leak Unless hes taken pretty **** good care of that motor then your ok

You got a six and he is talking smack huh. lol chevy boys. Tell him to race a gt. that way when he loses he wont be as embarrased as he will be when you kick his ass.

the only decent 5 liter chevy made was 30 yrs ago, the 302 Z28 motor, other than that the 305 has sucked. No 305 ever had more than 185 hp in a camaro.

The 350 powered camaro is another story, it could be a stock truck motor, it could be a nicely camed/heads motor, you just dont know, they are cheap and easy to build.

Hell even a vortec 350 from a truck is pushing 255hp and 350 ft lbs, will make a camaro move quite nicely
