cobalt ss/sc vs good ol stang

Sorry guys this is another who would win. My buddies thinking about getting a 06 cobalt ss/sc and i was wondering if i could keep up with it? the only perforamnce i have done to my car is full exhaust. long tubes o/r h and cat back.

Honestly, if he's gonna get the Cobalt SS, he should get the Turbo. It's pretty damn fast

agreed or behind some warehouse imo, but to the op u got a chance the sc r alot slower then the new turbo ones i lost to a buddies 2010 turbo ss by like 2-3 cars but he raised the boost to 20psi n is tuned @ 263fwhp

if you wanna keep these threads out of this section i think the only way is to start some sort of a racers bench section open to everyone similar to what mf has set up.

but anyways it should be a pretty good race if it's stock. really close or in his favor from a roll and would be in your favor from a dig.

If you really wanna know before you race, you can usually find some youtube videos that will give you a general idea...

you will get beat. I have owned a 06 cobalt ss/sc with a stage 3 kit and even stock it destroyed GTs. You best chance with be from a dig but i still think youll lose. My full bolt on gear'd 5 speed GT pulled 2 cars on a STOCK cobalt ss sc.

hold up the 06 cobalt ss/sc only has 205hp and 200lbs trq. and weighs 3000lbs the 99-04gt have 260hp 300lbs trq and wigh 3300lbs. With those statistics how the hell does the cobalt win especially by several cars the weight difference isnt that big as well. Dont make sense?

300lbs is 3 tenths in the quarter mile. They are sick on the roll with a eaton blower. Doesnt the op have an auto?

umm..autos have like 225rwhp stock. My cobalt ss/sc ran low 13s. Thats full bolt ons and gears for a 5 speed. I dont know why people dis credit those cars. The current record for a stock cobalt ss supercharged 1/4 mile (cobaltss.net) is 14.01 @100 mph, please remind what a stock mustang gt runs again?

Cobalt has exhaust, tune, pulley, bigger injectors etc...Mustang has full exhaust.

the cobalt was def not stock pulley upped his boost and the tune changed everything the gt only had an exhaust.

depending on what stage kit he went with they are good for 45-65fwhp. A stage 2 cobalt ss puts down about 255fwhp. Add meth they are no joke. They go 12s with less than 2500 worth of mods. I dont get why people hate on them lol. Granted the cobalt ss/tc runs 13.2 stock but so what.

My OTTP stage 3 kit consistented of 42lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, Griffin heat exchanger, tune and belt obviously.
