Yeah, I've got a friend with an RB26dett swapped 240sx. It should be pretty quick, he's shooting for 500+rwhp when he goes to single turbo. Right now it's got small twins and doesn't seem too formidable. It's a hardcore racer though. Gutted, fuel cell, the works.

They're impressive, but I don't think they're the be all end all everyone makes them out to be.
Everyone talks like nothing could ever beat a 2jz, rb26, or 4g63.
Truth be told, most aren't putting out much more than a big centri stang.
Everyone says the skyline and supra are infallible, but a turbo/TT Cobra can walk them.

Bottom line is a well built Mustang can run with if not beat one without too much trouble.

but you have to factor the price on that which is gonna come cheaper a 2500 240 with a 3k motor swap or a 5k mustang and boost and all other neccesary things

If you put them side by side, a V6 Mustang and a 240sx, swap both motors, and seriously build the turbos and all other supporting systems, you'll come out pretty even.

As is I'm shooting for about 1/3rd of my friends budget, and I'll be able to make more power.

All I'm saying is just because you have an rb swapped 240 doesn't mean you're suddenly a god who walks among men, it means you can run in the class with the big boys. What people seem to forget is there's plenty of turbo stangs in that class as well.

Yeah no way an sr20 puts out anywhere near that stock. I used to own one in a 1991 Infiniti G20 and I was only pushing about 217 stock out of the engine. So less at the wheels. Its a fun engine for beginners, expensive tho.

The RB is a much heaver engine but it makes up for that in power.. I can dig it.

I have....
(and by have I mean 3 people technically own it)

a sr20 swapped 240... fun little car its an auto-x / road course car but if I had to guess it would prob run mid/low 13s with the right springs and tire out back.

RB is an entirely different monster in a 240.

Sr swap in a 240 isn't really expensive either , rb is... and the 26 can be sneaky they have stock looking 2871s? or 2876s? or whatever they are gt28.xx's capable of like 500+

sr20det's push out about 220ish stock

your p10 only was putting out 140 if it was stock... unless you did an avenir/bluebird/gtir swap? thats up to you. sr20det's in completely stock trim cant make more then 250 since thats where both the maf and injectors pretty much are maxed out. stock longblock ive seen capable of handling 350whp but with z32 maf, 720cc injectors and a gt2876r.

rb's are pretty impressive. fun as hell to drive. a bit heavy though. in my opinion if youre going I6 in a 240 1/2JZ would be best since the turbo is away from the brake master cylinder which solves one of the biggest turbo issues with 240's... brake booster clearance.

i know a guy making 580 on stock bottom end on his rb with just head work and a gt35r(and tuning of course)
