1980 mercury capri kill

ok i was sitting about 30 feet from a cross walk with a red light so i rev it up to about 4k and dump the clutch i slowly slide up to the cross walk i push the clutch back to the floor and pull it out of gear i wait a second then put it back into first then bring the engine to 7,500 rpm and waited for the green light.about 4-5 secs pasted the light turned green and boom the tach was reading 9,120 rpm my speedo was reading 46 mph.i wasnt moving.i dint notice it but a 2006 v-8 mustang gt pulled up next to me and when the light turned green he dumped the clutch too both our cars were just sitting the roasting the tires :O. i had 10.5 inch slicks and my tires hooked up first i blew off the line after sitting there for about 25-30 secs. i slamed it onto second gear and the tach read 8,900 rpm doing 85 mph i actually was doing about 30 mph. i got about 3,000 feet down the road when my tach started bouncing between 7k and 9k rpm. i slamed on the brakes and the gt went right past me doing 80 at least. i came to a stop redlined it and dumped the clutch again as soon as it went into gear every thing went quiet. got out poped my hood 4th piston back was hanging out of the block and the #4 and #2 rods were gone.

my grand father gave it to me about 4 months ago cause it needs a new left front spindle and a new front left axel (4x4) might need a new knuckel all together. and my 300 i-6 had a rev limit of 9800 rpm supercharged @23 psi ,eagle crankshaft, edeldrock intake,1000 demon carb, custom head 14-1 compression ratio, comp tech pistons with a matching set of connecting rods. 450 horses+torque. 9.7 secs@ 140.00mph on average at the 1/4 mile. so i think my car is pretty good sitting at almost 10k rpm.

450hp car running mid 9's in the quartermile? hmmmm....
