GT500. Just cause you can't get one doesn't mean you have to hate it.

I dislike it, because it's just Ford being greedy and knowing that anything they slap a shelby badge on will sell for whatever price they ask. And I really dislike the new GT500KR - they had a perfect opportunity to make what the GT500 should have been, and they just put a body kit on it and did some basic bolt ons. The 2000 Cobra R, on the other hand, was a no-compromises performance version of the Mustang. No superfluous marketing BS, just "what's the best part we can use?". No "oh, that's gonna make it too expensive for the general public". They just shut up and did it right.

I don't know too much about the Cobra R, But the guy who tunes my car tunes and drives all kinds of stangs GT 40s, and after letting him take her around the block he was giggling like a kid said he thought it was the shite.
When I went to the drag strip for my first time I had a blast but certainly had a hard time hooking up on the original street tires. As far as cornering it sticks alot better than my seats do.

As a biased owner, I'd take the Cobra R. However the GT 500 is pretty nice.
