02 Mustang GT vs 350Z?

heeey new to the group so didnt know where to post this, here seemed appropriate....

anywayzz

i have an 02 gt with few bolt-ons (catback,o/r xpipe,bbk cai,t/b spacer) aannd new tires
runnin' 0-60 in the lowlow or posibly a flat 5 (timed myself with the camera

)

well theres this 'kinda friend of mine' who just got a 350z (guessing its stock)
and i have a feeling were gonna have to race since everyone keeps telling me to call him out but he hasnt said anything yet

if we went for it who do u think would take it?

oooooo if i beat him i would make fun of his ass and record him

I've driven an 06 350Z, there quick little cars. You should be able to take him out with your mods though.

It will be a drivers race. Don't underestimate the Z.

drivers race! i had the same bolt ons you did and raced 2 350z's. i walked one (driver) and the other was side by side with me from around 45-130

I think it'd be a close race, i also have a semi-friend w/ a '04 350z and everytime we're going to race something happens-like traffic and timing he works nights!

i ran one at the track...traded wins all night, constantly within .1 of each other...we had both only had our cars for a few weeks

i think you should take him since he isnt used to his car yet and u have some bolt ons. or u could just put it off and get gears and walk away from him.

350z's are average Jap performance. I raced a Yellow Fairlady and had 2 cars on him by the top of 1st gear, and it just got worse for him from there. I didn't even have to fire my juice. I was pretty disappointed, as the car looked as if it should go like hell.

yea i called him out since november he only says he'll smoke me but he wont race me!!!

since i started this thread the only mods ive done are a sct-x3-tuner and bbk-75mm-TB..
4.10s coming probably late next month (i have 2 speeding tickets from this month

)

you should beat him if you can drive. it is basically a drivers race.

i think you will win bu not by much ive raced two at the track and barely beat them if i remember right the 350z got 14.0 and 14.1 we were neck n neck to bout to the end he was right at my rear bumber

It will be close. The trick is,you have to shift your car at 5200 rpm`s. I had on 02 Gt with similar mods and picked up 2 tenths of a second by shiftinf at 5200. Before I was shifting at 6200.
