A lot of there 1/4 mile time is due to the AWD's good launching. They weigh in about the same as a GT500.

It will be a close race i'll say. When my focus had minor bolt ons I outran a v6 mustang by about 2 cars, given the mustang was automatic. My buddy at the same time had a automatic 3000gt SL with nothing done and i pulled by a fender and at top end he passed me. With some mods to the mustang as stated vs. this stock 3000 gt i'd have to say the 3000 by about a car.

Weight IIRC is around 3900lbs, 300hp, and they run high 13s/low 14s, but only the vr4s.

ehhh the VR-4s have 320 crank hp and i think like 315 ft lb torque and weight about 3780 lbs
if i remember correctly the 0-60 time was 5.4 and 1/4 was 13.8. So Im thinking if a 1999-2004 GT gets a good launch, it should be about dead even till about 65-70 mph then hell crawl ahead... The baseline 3000gt has 161 hp and the SL has 218 hp. Probably relatively same torque numbers to tag along with them. A V6 mustang should be able to walk this one becuase of the weight of the 3000gt. Only the VR-4 has AWD all the others are FWD from I remember All in all if its not a VR-4 its not going to be that quick and even if it is a VR-4 its not that fast for something thats got a twin turbo in it. Only reason I know this crap is because some douche in a VR-4 wants to line em up and he called me a smart man for not doing it that night....cocky prick... Hes stock and I should be able to keep up pretty damn well. I had to know what Im up against first and I cant wait to see the look on his face when he relaizes I can keep up if not beat him if he gets a bad launch (if i get a good one) |

He's definitely gonna get you in the torque department cuz of the inline 6. However those cars are 3800 lbs and only get that advertised 13.8 cuz of traction. Get him from about 40 mph and see where he's at. Most of those cars have clutch and tranny issues as well.

thats true. i have the stealth and all first gear it is slow then second is a little better but not much. my car is about 1 second faster than the 3000. i cant imagine how slow they are.
