2007 Tundra

Ok sot this friend of mine has a 2007 Toyota Tundra, Extended cab, 2 wheel drive, 5.7L V8. I know it has exactly twice the horsepower mine does and almost twice the torque, but it also weighs 4 times more than mine. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I can take him....

Nope. You're gonna get your ass handed to you. Two guys I work with have '07 Tundras with the iForce 5.7 and they will move for a full size truck. My bone stock '07 GT demo car doesn't exactly run away from them, just pull them.

If you're insistant on doing it, put your $$$ on him.

We won't race for a while anyway. I'll have my 3.73 gears by then, that should beat him...

By the time we race, if I were guessing I will have. CAI, ful exhaust, UD pulley, tuner, and 8.8" rear end with 3.73 gears. Im thinking about buying 17x10.5s with drag radials for the back, but idk if its worth it or not.

1. A Toyota Tundra regular cab, long bed truck has a curb weight of 4700 lbs, not 6000.
2. The truck with the 5.7 puts out 380 horsepower.
3. The truck runs 0-60 in 6 seconds, and the 1/4 mile in mid to high 14's.
4. You car runs 16.5 as noted in your profile.

You will need a lot more than bolt ons and gears to chop 2 seconds off your times and catch that truck.

Even the extended cab weighs about 5500, not 6000.

If he's pulling 16's, chances are the guy can't drive worth a shit.

Here's a road test, on a double cab Tundra no less, that runs 14.8 in the 1/4.

Tundra Test

The only reason I replied on this is because I buy car mags all the time, and I've read a few tests on this thing, and they always say it runs high 14's in the 1/4. A buddy of mine's old man had one too, and although I never saw it at the track, I've been in it, and it pulls like a bitch.
