How To Do A Burn-Out?

Hey,

How can I do a burn-out? I have a v8 automatic GT...
I don't know how to do a burn-out!

DO you simply hold the brake and gas pedal down at the same time?

I'd like to wear my tires real good...please help.
Thank you.

hold both, let off brake, looses traction, put a little pressure back on the brakes, just enough to stay in place

Yeah you got the basics right. Hold the brake down and ease down on the gas gently untill the suspension "preloads". After that gently apply gas and release bake slowly untill the tires start spinning. Once the tires are spinning you can hold the bake tight as you like and roast the tires as long as your check book can take. Be carefull though. Once ya completly release the brake you will start rolling forward (duh?). It can very easily get hairy quick. Be prepaired for the rear to "fish tail" with you.

Just be smart and dont kill yourself or your stang. I will tell ya this too.... The tires for our cars arnt cheap ... I had a hell-of-a lot of fun on my first set. The I had to buy a whole new set.... LOL .. lets just say I aint been burning my meats NEAR as much since!

Thats a great way to destroy the rear brakes in a hurry. Its best to use just enough brakes to keep it from rolling, or even better add a line lock.

I don't know if it did anything to my rear brakes since my front ones are the ones - as far as I know - are the ones that are messed up!

+1 on the traction control HMUSN. Found that out the hard way with my old 02 Gt. Had to purchase all new rotors and pads and it never seemed right after that. Good info for the newer stang owners.
