1979 mercury capri vs. 1994 mitsubishi eclispe


ok i live in bremerton washington we have about a 4 mile striaght road with 2 small hills that rise about 4-5 feet each.i just pasted the first stop light and a 94 eclipse pulled along side me i was in third gear 1,150 rpm 34 mph. he started reving his engine and you could he the turbo winding up.i went ahead and dumped my car into second gear and floored it. least to say i took of like a bat out of hell i let my engine get to 4,500 rpm it was poping a little bit so i dumped it into third gear (at the time i was doing 55 mph) i got about 4 1/2 car lenghts ahead of the 94 eclipse and i heard a short wislteand he started catching up i was doing 75 mph at this time and put it into fourth i just went over the first small hill and hit 95 mph my engine started to pop a bit and ping a little too (87 octane) and i got 2 car lenghts on the eclipse a red light was ahead and no traffic so i flew through the light the eclipse was right beside me noew and i was losing rpm my engine stoped at 110 mph i was poping and pinging like a son of a gun so i let off the gas and pussed the clutch in floored it and dumped the clutch and all i heard was a loud boom and my car started lurching i pushed in the clutch and my engine instantly stoped running. so i pulled off the road and the eclipse pulled a u turn about 3/4 a mile ahead. i poped the hood and there was oil all over my engine bay and oil was seeping from my head gasket coolant was pouring out the front of the head and the vavle cover gasket was gone. i sat there for a second and the eclipse came back he got out of his car came over to me and said " i think you won that one" i think he was either making fun of me or was actually being nice i dont know all i know is i have an engine to rebuild and hope nothing broke cause im broke on cash.

soo .... yeah .... good going fuckhead. way to blow a red light.

dsms have pretty good top ends. mine keeps up with a 1998 Z28 camaro (automatic) till we hit about 130 (top of 4th).

ok the number 4 rod is snapped the number 5 vavles are bent and ive got the engine back together and it seens to be running fine besides deiseling on shut down.....any way to fix that lol?

ok this isnt good the engine gets up to temp and when i shut it off it wont stop running....it stays running with the key off for about 5-10 minutes lol.i sound really funny to when its deisieling missfireing every now and then.

ok...i pulled the spark plugs today and the number one spark plug is powdered white,the number 2 is brown and glazed, the number three,four,and five,porcelen is cracked and slightly melted,and the number six is brown and glazed. any opions?
