How close to evo/sti?
Right now I have an 03 gt with about 68k on it. It has k&n intake, plenum, plenum spacer, o/r x, 3.73's a pair of 555's and about the best I could do for a tune for 91 on my sct x3. The car is awesome, within a couple weeks, ill try to wing alu drive shaft, electric water pump, larger TB, figure something out for control arms, and see if I can get a better tune. As of now, how far off am I from giving a stock or mostly stock evo/sti a run for its money? This weekend I came up on one of each and neither wanted to race. Someone told me with what I have, im probably ~low-mid 13's or so, I looked up times for the evo/sti and it seems like it should be a good race. If I can't pull it off now, what about after my next order?

so surely I can't be far from one. I figured if I conned them into a low roll, I might win, but I am not sure how big of a gap they will put on me from a stop.

evo's with a great driver can run high 12's, with a good driver run low 13's, andmid-high13's with an alright driver (im talking about evo 9's BTW). 06-07 Sti's run low 13's with agreat driver, mid-high 13's with a good driver and low 14's with an alright driver (idk crap about the new STI's). evo's are faster from a roll then an STI, Sti's suck from a roll imo. evo 8's are about on par or maybe slight better then 06-07 sti's.

I can find a few that are stock/mostly stock. I raced an evo with exhaust and something else before I did most of what I did and I didn't lose by as much as I thought. I think from a roll I could get him, its from a stop im not so sure about.

Just make sure they are stock. I ran against a 500HP Evo this past saturday and it was fast as hell. First run was from a 40 roll and I pulled 2 cars on him. Of course when I let off he flew by me, got in front and hit his flashers. I honestly am not joking. Does that truley mean I beat you or does it mean nice running with ya? Well, i had to find out so I caught back up to him. This time it was from a 60 roll and he stayed nose to nose with me, I wish I was in 3rd and not 4th when we started WOT. I had to wait to wind out the gear. I didn't dare clutch to down shift because that evo would have pulled on me. It was one bad ass import. After that run we slowed down and we both did a thumbs up. he told me he had 500hp and I asked him about the flashers. he said yea, it means They beat you (he started laughing) then while shaking his head no he said people really just do it now to piss you off and get you to run again. I NOTICED-To ricers it isnt how fast you are, it is usually who is too stupid to let off when coming up on traffic, more of a dare. they are prepared to weave in and out of traffic and out drive me while endangering lives. So was he messing with me or really think he beat me the first run? I would think the second run showed he can't pull on me yet beat me. I am surprised I did as well with my extra weight, perhaps he embelished the HP numbers or was a bad driver. So, Watch out for those Evo's. Sti's haven't come close.

With what i have i walked a WRX from a roll pretty good. Once he got a tune i asked how much boost he was pusing he said 18. Went from a roll again it was neck and neck. I just ask how much boost they put out..my rule of thumb is if its in the 20s i dont even bother.

Well I don't think I am stock anymore. I know I didn't do a lot to my car, but what I have done seems to have added up well. I was just curious how close I am, ill find out this weekend if I can get one to race.
