Ohh your 100% correct hell no they are not gonna trap close to an LS-1 there not that fast lol. LT-1's are more known for low end grunt they get off the line pretty good but the top end is a nightmare and thats where the LS-1 shines.

Not really. They don't have a lot of low end torque, but that actually makes it easier to launch. They can get up and go once you get past 45.
I had 4.10's, 555r's, and quite a bit of BMR stuff in my old Z/28 and it was a strong little runner considering the only other mods were lid/catback. I really miss that car. If it hadn't been lost in a wreck it would probably be pretty bad ass at this point. It was a light weight hardtop six speed car with minimal options. Surprised a lot of people.

From my understanding of the WS6 package it's just ram air and suspension. Which means not very much more power than a regular TA. It will have no more than 300 fwhp without mods, but those LT1s love mods.
Just be ready to put time into it! |

they arnt too bad off the line but its like what rk 2000 said once you get outta first it pulls like a mofo. makes up for it.
dont buy a gen 3 f-body unless it has an ls1. or you can buy a lt1 and spend a ton of money to make it fast. (and the front ends suck on the lt1's IMO they look too much like an arrow)

well i'll be honest because i haven't owned both cars but i've had friends that have had both and i'll be the 1st to tell you that if it were an LS1 i'd say go for the LS1...but LT1's are junk, even with the WS6 package, all that consists of is stiffer suspension, and ram air intake...thats it. and makes an extra 20 hp over a stock LT1, LT1's are famous for running hot all the time, and honestly the LT1 TA's are ugly ass cars, The cobra is gonna be about the same as far as power goes, but they are much more durable, hold their value longer if you wanted to resale it at any point. My best friend has a 97 Cobra, with nothing but pulleys,CAI,Xpipe and Catback, that he drove everyday and drove on beach trips a few times. And he ran a 150 Shot of nitrous on that car for a year and a half, before stepping it up to a 175 hp shot, and the motor is still running strong. His best time was 12.13 in a 1/4 and and 7.79 in a 8th on slicks. So unless the Fbody is an LS1 its not worth the headache.
