Question

97 mustang cobra...or....95 trans am ws6


So I Am In The Process Of Buying A Car. But I Dont Know Which One To Go With. The Cobra Or The Trans Am. The Cobra Has The Following Mods A Mac Cai, Bbk Throttle Body, 3.73 Ford Racing Gears, King Cobra Double Clucth, Steeda Tri Ax Shifter, Accel Coil Packs, Ford Racing Wires, Irridium Spark Plugs, 190 Fuel Pump, And 18 Inch Cobra Rims...ok Now For The Trans Am Its A Six Speed, Its Lowered And It Also Was Sent To The Dealear To Get The Ws6 Package Installed And It Has Flowmaster Exhaust.....ok Knowing All This What Car Should I Get, Which One Is Faster, Much More Powerful, And Reliable...the Cobra Has 123,000miles On It And The Trans Am 110,000miles On It...which Car Is Ready For Another 100,000miles? Please Help Out With Your Honest Opinions..thanx...

no matter wat the TA is ugly IMO

and cobras are badass...

plus the ta is too old to be an ls1 so its nothing special and the stang is newer

haha..yeah i know they dont look all that.....naw the trans am is a lt1....but i hear with the ws6 package on it...it will do 0-62 in 4.9 seconds and run the quarter mile in 13.3 seconds...

yeah that is why i am asking everyone for there honest opinions...so please be real with yourselves mustang peeps....let me know wat u all think...well the previous owner took it to the dealer because the ws6 started in 1996....so he took it in to get the package....i believe its just suspension and the ram air, and freer exhaust....

so it already has the package or are you buying it?

and theres no way an lt1 with just ehuxat and cai will be in the low 13s

MAYBE with enough suspension mods but i still doubt it and even if it was possible it would suck at handling

heres wat the reiview said.................

1995 models were the same as those of previous years, but traction control (ASR: Acceleration Slip Regulation) was now available. The steering wheel was also changed. It was borrowed from the Grand Prix.A performance package was also offered. The package offered Polyurethane Bushings, suspension upgrades,as well as a freer intake/exhaust similar to that on the Chevrolet Corvette, supplying 310 hp to very few of the Firebird models; those that did receive this set-up were able to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds and cover a quarter-mile in 13.2 seconds at 110 mph (180 km/h). The 'Perform Transmission' button, which was available in the 310 hp Trans Ams, gave a 25% increase in torque with every kickdown, and resulted in a maximum of 350 ft·lbf (470 N·m) of torque. Although the redline displayed on the tachometer was 5000 rpm, the engines were capable of revving to 7000 rpm.The Firebirds which had the package were among the fastest cars at the time.

Firehawk if ur goin pontiac. dont waste your money on a trans am that had the ws6 package put on it cuz then its not a true ws6 and it is a quite hideous car. also LT1=pos
so im gonna say Cobra

acording to the seller he raced his dad who has a brand new roush...i dont know what stage it is...but that his trans am took it by like 4 car lengths....

Well, just the Roush Stage 2 has 300hp (261@rw). It's basically just an appearance package. 0-60 = 5.1 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.8. Source = Motor Trend (April '08). But I am calling BS that a pretty much stock LT1 can take down a stock 3-Valve.

There is no way it will do 0-62 in 4.9 seconds and run low 13's. But then again, I'm no expert.

::VERDICT - Personally it would depend on the condition of the two cars. I won't take a beat up Cobra over a T/A in better condition. And vice versa. But if they were in the same condition, I would choose the Cobra; but I'm pretty partial towards Mustangs.

do u guys believe that the cobra with the mods i listed...oh yeah i i forgot the suspension is pretty done up 2....well with the mods will the mustang be taking out pretty decent cars?

lt1s are like mid 14s last time i checked

i know when i was bone stock besides a catback i put like 3 cars on one from a dig

i really dont see a cai/exhuast lt1 in the low 13s as possilbe. maybe with slicks and a prob driver in ideal condtions but still doubt it

first off had a 95 lt1 with a ws6 package,no way it does the 1/4 13.3,i hit 12's with a bunch of mods,but most important ,THE LT1 IS POS TO WORK ON,the plugs are a 500-900 job to change if u take it to a shop,if u get any water on the optispark ur screwed,half the engine is under the dash,i owned a lt1 for 2 years i know,do not get,unless ur ready for bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the mods on the cobra are basic mods

exhuast
gears
cai
shifter

its a great start for a 4v
