DS, RR, and PDX @ Hallett, OK
Sept. 13-14, SCCA Driver's School, Regional Race and PDX. Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, Jennings, OK. 35 miles west of Tulsa, off the Cimmaron Turnpike.
The PDX is $75 for one day, $125 for both. Drive with an instructor in your car, at speed, on the same course that racers use. Helmet required, other safety equipment optional, but recommended. Just bring a reliable car.
(TIP: change your brake fluid to a high-temp fluid)
All the Oklahoma members here, this is your invite. I'll be in Enid the Thursday before the race (11th), and be at the track friday afternoon. The weekend ends by 5:00 PM on Sunday, but is not likely to run that long. Camping (with tents) at the track is free, electrical hookups are $20 for the whole weekend. Full (free) shower facilities, diner with excellent food (even better coffee), all at the track. So far there have only been 3 entries for the PDX. Don't know about the driver's school or the regional race. If you want to get an SCCA competition license, you could go through the school for the two days, and then race on sunday and have your license requirements fulfilled. Registration and tech inspection is Friday 6 PM-9 PM, and 7-2 on saturday and sunday.
I hope to see a few more Mustangs there.
