Since i pick on chevy guys for lying about mods at the track ill point out a mustang guy doing it. Guy runs 12.4, on some dr's and says all he has is cai and tune. anyone buying?

what was his mph? that will tell you the power he is making, with very sticky tires and launching off the rev limiter you may be able to get close but that is an awesome time for just tires and cai/tune....but he had to have more than that I would believe

yeah no chance. not even with suspension mods. he'll break into the 12's, but not mid 12's

Latest issue of some S197 Performance magazine I have there is an article where Justin Burcham takes a stock GT, adds a CAI & tune, front sway bar delete, slicks and skinnies and runs mid 12's.

I guess it's possible, but I certainly can't do it with my car.

There were a couple guys running 12.9's with just a cai/tune of STREET tires

i ran 11's with window tint! i think the guy is full of it unless his mustang has v-tec

bigs and littles with all out slicks are much different than dr's on street wheels

I cut a better 60 ft. on my Dr's than I do with slicks with skinnies in both cases.

Yeah 1.41 on the back tires is definitely not a power issue. Slicks do me fine but they roll when launching and I think that's where I lose my few hundredths in the short time or at least that's the only thing I can figure.

I have cut a low 1.31 short time on the Dr's when the best I got on slicks (same car) was a 1.32. Also the Dr's are so much smoother down the track.

When people ask me what I have done to my car, I tell them, "some intake, some exhaust, most, but not all of either, gears, and some weight reduction" I skip out on the water pump and sct tuner, I don't know if that makes me a liar or not but I never feel as if I lied.
