Crystal View headlight cleaner(pics included)

I just bought a new mustang about 2 weeks ago and it had the usual mustang foggy headlights. I had heard some things about how great CV was so I decided to try it for myself.

I picked a pack up at Advance Auto Parts for $20 and headed home to try it. When I opened the pack, it had 2 blue pieces and 2 brown pieces of sandpaper (I can't remember the grit), little red paper towel things, 2 packs of polish, and 4 packs of sealant.

There is a certain point you reach in the directions that states that this is what they will look like with the sealant on. They looked awful. Worse off than before actually.

After using the sand paper supplied in pack, I realized it was not coarse enough to take out my fog. I had to drive to WalMart and pick up another $4 set of coarser sandpaper (800 grit).

When I got home, I used my sandpaper to remove the fog, then continued down to use theirs and followed the directions as normal.

They also do not supply you with a lot of both solutions so use them sparingly.

After using my sandpaper, the lenses were very clear. They looked like they were ruined until I used their solution, after you put the sealant on there, they look very very nice.

I would highly recommend this product but I would definitely buy my own sandpaper. The ones they supply didn't last and were not strong enough. However, the polish and the sealants are amazing and definitely worth the $20. It took a total of 2-3 hours (including the drive to WalMart) to finish and the final cost was ~$25.

Before-(Yes its in the bathroom because I cleaned them over the tub)

After

I just used the kit and it worked perfectly. you cant just try to wet sand them with 1000 grit alone. there is a whole sequence.

It was kinda funny cause my neighbor bought new headlights for the same reason and then drives over to show em to me and I had just finished cleaning mine. He asked if i got new headlights also. I laughed and told him no and showed him the package.

he was pissed.
