i would contact diablosport about it.. because they say "all cars listed are 1998-2004" and then it lists "4.0 V6" there was no 4.0 sixer in that year range.. the largest was 3.9 in 04.. could be an error on diablosport's part

it is a preset tune...

what it does when you first plug it in is records your current tune... then you upload the preset tune and its ready to roll

if you have gears, want to turn off traction control, raise rev limiter, etc., you do that after the tune is uploaded

whenever you want to take it out... you just select to return it to the stock tune and it reloads the tune it first pulled

you can also datalog or whatever else you prefer to do, but mine does not have the USB cable to connect to a computer....i just never got around to buying one

well like what is the preset tune cuz i dont really know anything about the stuff you can change on your own, and mine is auto, does that matter? and does it have to be unlocked?

the first thing it asks when you plug it in is what transmission you have... so it does not matter either way

its just a performance tune.... im not sure what all parameters it modifies

it calls it a 93 octane tune (im sure it plays with timing somewhat), but i ran my car on 87 octane mainly for over a year and it was fine, and it pepped it up a little from before

if you are planning on adding catless exhaust it also allows you to turn off the rear O2's so you dont throw an engine code

the datalog allows you monitor every reading of your car.... trouble codes... all that good stuff.

you will not see 25rwhp from it or anything... but i think mine was around 10-15

it will ask when u first use it on your car whether it is an automatic or manual transmission vehicle.. and yes, the included tune requires no modification or alterations by you, except for changing the octane level of gas you use from 87 to 93.. the tuner is good if you keep adding more things to your car because it can keep squeezing the most power out of your car by getting a new tune by mail order or on a dyno in house.. but u will probably need the usb and power cables to do that

unless you have plans for something extreme like a head/cam swap, or turbo or any power added like the such.... this would work great for just a bolt-on car

now if you were going to do something extreme to it that would require a dyno tune, you might consider something like the SCT... BUT... they are nearly double what you would pay for mine
