F**k Midas!

Well i took my car in to discount tire to get two new tires put on the front of my stang. Well after about an hour wait, one of the guys told me that a stud is stripped and the lug nut is spinning. So they instructed me to go next door to Midas to get that stud removed so discount can finish installing my tires.

Well then i get this shit back from Midas

Yes they took a fucking torch to my wheel, melted my center cap, and then tried to charge me for labor.

Needless to say i kept my cool and prevented myself from jumping over the counter at the manager.

Not a good day.

Wow .... just wow. They could have easily just cut it off and put a new stud on the hub.....wow. Hell they could have even taken a hammer and chisel to it, thats what I had to do with my old Mitsubishi.

Maintain cool, No F'ing Way Dude! I would have been raising so much hell with the manager and making a phone call right then and there to their corporate office.

That is just plain stupidity on their part. I would have been making so much noise they would've called the cops on me.

Ya, i don't think i have ever been that close to absolutely going ape shit man. The reason why they didn't torch the back of the hub was because of the abs sensor.......seriously, those are way cheaper than a wheel.

Oh and the manager called me tonight wanting to make it right, so i assumed corporate did their part on bitching at them.

I've had a couple stuck lugs. Its a major pain. My way to get them off is to get my big impact out and hit it forward and then reverse until it breaks the stud. You usually don't have room to get them from the backside. That torch mark is not from a cutting torch, its from a wimpy propane torch.

Damn that is some shit. I don't think I could have kept my cool. That is completely ridiculous. I'm glad they want to make it right. Maybe they'll buy you a new set of wheels lol.

i'd go up the chain as well. that's absurd. they just know it's not worth your time in small claims court to make them pay out.

I work at firestone, and that shit would never had been done that way at my store. There are so many more ways to do that than use a torch. The heat can screw with the integrity of the wheel. I see a 1-800 call happening. You would be surprised what you can get from making that call.

Of course they did, what did you think that they would make it right? They are hoping your not going to prosue this so they wont have to pay...its called the run around. To get them to make this right your goin to have to take your problem to their boss.

I would still continue to call. It's not only bad business but a complete wrong done to a customer. Keep calling bro, it CAN pay off.

I understand if you dont want to take the time to make them pay. At least file a report with the BBB.
